Fundamentals

The Pipe Network Calculator combines pipe friction losses, fitting losses and geodetic pressure differences in a single tool.

Pipe friction loss (Darcy-Weisbach):

$$\Delta p_{pipe} = f \cdot \frac{L}{d_i} \cdot \frac{\rho , v^2}{2}$$

Fitting losses (K-value method):

$$\Delta p_{fit} = \sum K_i \cdot \frac{\rho , v^2}{2}$$

Geodetic pressure difference:

$$\Delta p_{geo} = \rho \cdot g \cdot \Delta h$$

Total loss:

$$\Delta p_{total} = \Delta p_{pipe} + \Delta p_{fit} + \Delta p_{geo}$$

Expert Mode: Multi-Section Networks

In Expert mode, multiple pipe sections can be defined in series. The available pressure is reduced section by section – ideal for designing irrigation and supply networks.
