Bending Radius Check
Compares a planned PE pipe bending radius with a documented minimum value.

Fundamentals
The check uses temperature-dependent minimum bending radii. The pipe wall temperature during bending is decisive:
| Pipe wall temperature | Table factor $k_T$ |
|---|---|
| 0 °C | 50 × OD |
| 10 °C | 35 × OD |
| 20 °C | 20 × OD |
$$R_{min}=k_T\times OD$$
The tool also reports the purely geometric outer-fibre bending strain, $\varepsilon_b=OD/(2R)$. SDR does not change this table factor, but remains visible for transfer to checks such as buckling resistance and pull force.
HDD option
For HDD, the same temperature-dependent radius values apply. The check is not a complete HDD verification. Pull force, pull duration, simultaneous bending, drilling-fluid pressure and buckling resistance must be checked separately.
The result only indicates whether the selected table value is met and serves as initial guidance.
Limits
Temperatures outside 0, 10 and 20 °C as well as fittings, couplers, segmented bends and damaged pipe are not assessed by the tool. Product-specific documentation and a project assessment govern those cases.
