Anergy networks & low-temperature district energy | PE 100-RC systems for districts

Anergy

High-performance pipe systems for anergy networks, geothermal energy and seasonal thermal storage. PE 100-RC for trenchless installation and maximum thermal cycling resistance.

Anergy solutions: infrastructure for the energy transition

Anergy networks are the heart of modern district supply systems. As low‑temperature distribution systems, they enable efficient transport of ambient heat and waste heat at temperatures around 10 °C to 25 °C. OHM pipe systems made of PE 100‑RC provide the safest foundation — optimized for both heating and cooling (free cooling).

Thanks to the flexibility and crack resistance of the material, our systems are ideal for accommodating ground movement and thermal expansion during seasonal storage operation. On request, OHM PE100‑RC pipes can be produced with colour markings (e.g. red/green for supply/return).

Key safety features & benefits at a glance

Thermal cycling resistance

Resistance to frequent temperature changes between summer (charging) and winter operation (discharging).

Point load resistance

PE 100‑RC reliably protects against stone inclusions that could cause long‑term cracks in conventional PE pipes.

Diffusion behaviour

Safe transport of water‑glycol mixtures without internal or external corrosion risk.

Cost efficiency & installation methods

Anergy networks often run over long distances in developed areas. OHMtec RC minimizes surface impact:

  • Trenchless methods: optimized for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and pipe ramming to protect existing infrastructure and tree roots.
  • Sand‑bedding‑free installation: using on‑site excavated material saves disposal costs and accelerates construction progress.
  • System compatibility: easy connection to heat pump transfer stations via electrofusion (HM) for tight, maintenance‑free joints over 100 years.
